High Quality Version Of ‘Cyclops’ And ‘Jean Grey’ X-MEN: APOCALYPSE Concept Art

Why are Cyclops and Jean Grey battling it out with Storm? Who knows, but perhaps this version of the character will start off on the site of Apocalypse before seeing the light and siding with Charles Xavier’s X-Men! We’ll have to wait and see on that one, but the concept art above is a much better quality version that what we saw previously. And hey, no more black leather!

X-Men: Apocalypse, directed by Bryan Singer (X-Men: Days of Future Past), will hit theaters on May 27, 2016 and stars Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), James McAvoy (Charles Xavier), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Oscar Isaac (Apocalypse), Rose Byrne (Moira McTaggert), Sophie Turner (Jean Grey), Alexandra Shipp (Storm), Kodi Smit-McPhee (Nightcrawler), Tye Sheridan (Cyclops), Ben Hardy (Angel), Olivia Munn(Psylocke), Lucas Till(Havok) and Lana Condor (Jubillee).

Alexandra Shipp And Sophie Turner Train Hard For X-MEN APOCALYPSE

Storm and Jean Grey maybe seeing some close-quarters combat in Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Apocalypse, as celebrity fight trainer Holly Lawson is currently getting Alexandra Shipp (House of Anubis) and Sophie Turner (Game Of Thrones) ready for the upcoming shoot. Obviously this isn’t any indication of the looks they’ll sport for the movie, but the rumor is we might just see them in something resembling their classic comic book outfits anyway. We have no way of verifying that of course, but if Singer does kit the team out in some sort of costumes I think it’s a safe bet we won’t be seeing the black leather again at any rate.

Alexandra Shipp Begins Training For Her Role As STORM For X-MEN: APOCALYPSE

With shooting for X-Men: Apocalypse to begin this April in Montreal, the cast will no doubt begin or continue to prepare for their roles, and it seems the younger cast additions won’t be an excpetion. Recently Alexandra Shipp, who will play Ororo Munroe a.k.a Storm, posted an image to her Instagram which reveals that she has already begun her training. The fact that she is excercising suggests that she may have a bit more substantial role , and that the role requires some physicallity.

Younger Jean Grey, Storm, And Cyclops Have Been Casted

The younger versions of Storm, Jean Grey and Cyclops have been cast in X-Men: Apocalypse.

Director Bryan Singer announced on Twitter that Alexandra Shipp will play Storm, Sophie Turner will take on Jean, and Tye Sheridan will star as Cyclops.

“Meet our new and brilliant young mutants” the director tweeted.

18-year-old Turner, who plays Sansa Stark in HBO’s Game of Thrones, is the most recognizable name in the bunch, although many may recall 18-year-old Sheridan from his roles in the 2012 coming-of-age drama Mud and Terrence Malick’s The Tree of Life. 24-year-old Shipp is a relative newcomer to the big screen, and is perhaps best known as KT Rush in the Nickelodeon mystery show House of Anubis.

The trio will be taking the torches from the older versions of their characters in the original X-Men trilogy (and last year’s brilliant time-bender Days of Future Past), Halle Berry, Famke Janssen and James Marsden.

All three young actors were rumored to be under consideration for the roles earlier this month. They will join X-Men regulars Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, and James McAvoy, as well as Episode VII’s Oscar Isaac, in the 2016 film.

Shooting starts on X-Men: Apocalypse in Montreal this April for a May 27, 2016, release.
