New TERMINATOR GENISYS Clips & TV Spots; "Come With Me If You Want to Live"

Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions have given us a couple of TV spots for their upcoming movie, Terminator Genisys.

When John Connor (Jason Clarke), leader of the human resistance against Skynet, sends Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) back to 1984 to protect his mother, Sarah (Emilia Clarke), from a Terminator assassin, an unexpected turn of events creates an altered timeline. Instead of a scared waitress, Sarah is a skilled fighter and has a Terminator guardian (Arnold Schwarzenegger) by her side. Faced with unlikely allies and dangerous new enemies, Reese sets out on an unexpected new mission: reset the future.

Also starring J.K. Simmons, Dayo Okeniyi, Matthew Smith, Courtney B. Vance and Byung-Hun Lee, Terminator Genisys is directed by Thor: The Dark World‘s Alan Taylor from a screenplay by Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier. The movie will hit theaters on July 1, 2015 and is the first in a planned trilogy of films.

Byung-hun Lee & Jason Momoa Joins THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN Remake

Already set to play Aquaman in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, Jason Momoa has signed up for a new cinematic ensemble project. According to The Hollywood Reporter and Deadline, the former “Game of Thrones” star and Byung-hun Lee (I Saw the Devil, G.I. Joe: Retaliation) in the role of Billy Rocks has joined the cast of Training Day director Antoine Fuqua’s The Magnificent Seven opposite Denzel Washington (who took home an Oscar for Training Day), Guardians of the Galaxy‘s Chris Pratt, The Equalizer‘s Haley Bennett, Boyhood‘s Ethan Hawke, Elite Squad‘s Wagner Moura and “Marvel’s Daredevil” star Vincent D’Onofrio. According to the trade, Momoa will play one of the film’s antagonists.

Originally drafted by “True Detective” scribe Nic Pizzolatto (since rewritten by The Blind Side‘s John Lee Hancock), The Magnificent Seven will remake the 1960 film directed by John Sturges that itself was inspired by Akira Kurosawa’s 1954 classic Seven Samurai. Sturges’ version starred Yul Brynner, Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson, James Coburn and Robert Vaughn as a group of disparate gunmen who come together to protect a Mexican village from bandits led by Eli Wallach. It led to a number of sequels as well as a CBS television series.

The new film is said to feature a victimized mining town, taken over by a gold baron, rather than the Mexican village of the original.

Five New Character Posters For TERMINATOR GENISYS

It’s hard to say whether or not Alan Taylor’s Terminator Genisys will be any good at this point, but these new character posters featuring stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Emilia Clarke, Jason Clarke, Byung-hun Lee, and Jai Courtney are pretty cool!

The beginning of Terminator: Genisys, the first of three planned films that Paramount hopes will relaunch the beloved sci-fi franchise, is set in 2029, when the Future War is raging and a group of human rebels has the evil artificial-intelligence system Skynet on the ropes. John Connor (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ Jason Clarke) is the leader of the resistance, and Kyle Reese (Divergent‘s Jai Courtney) is his loyal soldier, raised in the ruins of post apocalyptic California. As in the original film, Connor sends Reese back to 1984 to save Connor’s mother, Sarah (Game of Thrones‘ Emilia Clarke), from a Terminator programmed to kill her so that she won’t ever give birth to John. But what Reese finds on the other side is nothing like he expected.

Starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Clarke, Jai Courtney, Emilia Clarke, Matt Smith, Byung-hun Lee, Courtney B. Vance, and J.K. Simmons, Terminator Genisys is set to be released on July 1st.

New TERMINATOR: GENISYS Trailer Shows Surprising Twist!

Paramount has released a new Terminator: Genisys trailer, and it finally shows what the latest installment in the franchise has to offer. The story looks like it’s going along the regular beats—A terminator is sent back by the machines to kill Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke) so her son John (Jason Clarke) can’t be born and be humanity’s savior; one of John’s soldiers, Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney), goes back to protect Sarah from the terminator.

We knew that in this sequel an older Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger) was protecting Sarah and had been doing so since she was a child. The new trailer reveals that the threat isn’t just another liquid metal Terminator. The threat is John Connor, and not necessarily a mechanized-version. The trailer makes it clear this isn’t a matter of the machines learning how to shapeshift, and that there’s technically some of the real John Connor who’s trying to kill Sarah and Kyle. Now I’m interested.

Check out the new Terminator: Genisys trailer below along with a new image. The film opens in 3D on July 1st, and also stars J.K. Simmons, Byung-hun Lee, Matt Smith, Dayo Okeniyi, and Courtney B. Vance.

When John Connor (Jason Clarke), leader of the human resistance, sends Sgt. Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) back to 1984 to protect Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke) and safeguard the future, an unexpected turn of events creates a fractured timeline. Now, Sgt. Reese finds himself in a new and unfamiliar version of the past, where he is faced with unlikely allies, including the Guardian (Arnold Schwarzenegger), dangerous new enemies, and an unexpected new mission: To reset the future…
