Official EVEREST Trailer; The Thrilling Climb Has It’s Toll

Universal Pictures have released the first trailer for their new drama-thriller, Everest. It follows the epic climb two groups take to conquer the summit of the world’s highest mountain, Everest! Check the trailer below.

Inspired by the incredible events surrounding an attempt to reach the summit of the world’s highest mountain, Everest documents the awe-inspiring journey of two different expeditions challenged beyond their limits by one of the fiercest snowstorms ever encountered by mankind. Their mettle tested by the harshest elements found on the planet, the climbers will face nearly impossible obstacles as a lifelong obsession becomes a breathtaking struggle for survival. The epic adventure stars Jason Clarke, Josh Brolin, John Hawkes, Robin Wright, Michael Kelly, Sam Worthington, Keira Knightley, Emily Watson and Jake Gyllenhaal.

Everest is directed by Baltasar Kormákur (2 Guns, Contraband) and produced by Working Title Films’ Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner, Cross Creek Pictures’ Brian Oliver and Tyler Thompson, as well as Nicky Kentish Barnes and Kormákur.

Universal Pictures and Cross Creek Pictures’ presentation of Everest—in association with Walden Media—is adapted for the screen by William Nicholson (Gladiator) and Oscar® winner Simon Beaufoy (Slumdog Millionaire).

The film was shot on location in Nepal on the foothills of Everest, the Italian Alps and at Cinecittà Studios in Rome and Pinewood Studios in the U.K. Universal will distribute Everest worldwide.

Thanos Originally Had A Bigger Part In GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY

During a press conference today in support of Avengers: Age of Ultron, Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige and Avengers director Joss Whedon addressed the connective tissue betweeen the Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy corners of the universe.

When a reporter asked about the connections between films and which characters or concepts may have been back-burnered a bit in Phase Two to make sure they were where they needed to be for the second Avengers film, Feige and Whedon had a few examples.”

“As we were putting the other Phase 2 movies together, Joss very much liked the idea and we honed in on that for him that Hulk and Hawkeye would be two characters that hadn’t gotten very much exposure between the movies because he said he had very big plans for the two of them in this one,” Feige said. “The only thing I can think of is pulling Thanos out of Guardians of the Galaxy,” added Whedon. “That’s true,” admitted Feige. “There was going to be more Thanos, yeah.” “They needed to thread him in more gently,” Whedon concluded.

Of course, it’s no secret that Guardians director James Gunn felt the Thanos scene in the film was the hardest thing to shoot, so it’s likely there wasn’t a ton of resistance in playing him down a bit.

The Avengers: Age of Ultron will be in theaters May 1, 2015; Ant-Man on July 17, 2015; Captain America: Civil War – May 6, 2016; Doctor Strange – November 4, 2016; Guardians of the Galaxy 2 – May 5, 2017; Spider-Man reboot – July 28, 2017; Thor: Ragnarok – November 3, 2017; The Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 – May 4, 2018; Black Panther – July 6, 2018; Captain Marvel – November 2, 2018; The Avengers: Infinity War Part 2 – May 3, 2019; Inhumans – July 12, 2019.

Thanos MAY Appear In Multiple Marvel Movies Besides "Avengers: Infinity War"

Josh Brolin’s Thanos is set to appear in at least two more Marvel Studios films before starring in Avengers: Infinity War: Pt. 1 and Avengers: Infinity War Pt.2.
In an interview with Nuke The Fridge, the actor revealed that he’ll somehow work on Thanos both in 2016 and 2017. When asked about his future plans for the character, he responded:
“The fact that it’s so, it’s like, Yeah in 2016 and ’17, what am I going to be doing? Oh, I’m going to be doing that. I’m very lucky in that way, man. I just get presented these things and I go wow, really? Why now and why this? The possibilities for Thanos are unlimited.”
Within those two years, Marvel will release Captain America: Civil War, Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Thor: Ragnarok, and Black Panther. It’s hard to tell however, if Brolin’s comments mean that he’ll be filming Marvel movies in those two years, or if those two years contain releases with him in them. Out of the four films releasing in those two years, Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and Thor: Ragnarok seem like the most obvious candidates. Guardians 2 is almost a guarantee, with Gamora and Nebula—Thanos’ daughters—returning to the sequel. Thor, meanwhile, could easily shift itself deeper into Marvel’s cosmic realm and somehow include Thanos.
However, if Brolin is only referring to 2016 and 2017 as years that he’s filming, one of the projects would have to be Avengers: Infinity War, which opens in 2018. Either way, any more of the Mad Titan between now and Infinity War is a good thing.

Josh Brolin Says ‘Avengers 3’ Will Be ‘Thanos Against Everyone’

One of the bigger surprises in this past summer’s excellent “Guardians of the Galaxy,” was the reveal of Thanos (played, in a bit of performance capture fun, by Josh Brolin), who had previously been hinted at in the mid-credits scene in “The Avengers.” Clearly, the infamous villain, who at one point wiped out most life in the galaxy due to his ongoing courtship of a female personification of death, is going to have a huge impact on the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the years ahead. And Brolin confirmed that he would be at the center of the third “Avengers” adventure, “The Avengers: Infinity War – Part 1” (out May 4th, 2018) and “The Avengers: Infinity War – Part 2” (out May 3rd, 2019).
While talking to Coming Soon about his wonderfully wacky new Paul Thomas Anderson detective movie “Inherent Vice,” Brolin said, “I love the idea of Thanos… Ultimately, it’s Thanos against everyone. Why wouldn’t you do that?” Good question, Josh!
The actor also revealed to the site that it was his relationship with an old friend, Louis D’Esposito, who serves as the Marvel Studios co-president (and has overseen and directed a number of the now defunct “One Shot” short films). Brolin explained: “Thanos came along because of my good friend Louis D’Esposito. He and I used to train together. We did ‘Hollow Man’ together. He called me up and started talking about this thing. It was nice because I could intimately talk to him about it. What I liked. What I didn’t like about the whole idea of it… It was really exciting because of the possibilities that it could be come. Not as an idea or as a blockbuster, but just as something different. It’s a character mentality.”
Where Thanos will next pop up is anybody’s guess, although it’s probably safe to assume he’ll next be seen in “Guardians of the Galaxy 2,” out in the summer of 2017. You know that Thanos – always hooked on a feeling.
