“Dexter” alum James Remar has joined the cast of MTV’s “The Shannara Chronicles” in the role of Cephelo, the leader of the Rovers, who roam the Four Lands in the magical fantasy series.
“Shannara” is based on a series of novels written by Terry Brooks, and follows Austin Butler as Wil Ohmsford, a half-elf who learns he is the last member of the magical Shannara family and embarks on a quest to find the Druid who holds the key to his future. “Shannara” takes place centuries after Earth’s current civilization has destroyed itself through a nuclear holocaust.
The show is being produced by MTV and Sonar Entertainment and will be directed by Jonathan Liebesmen.
Remar is currently filming “February,” with Emma Roberts and Kiernan Shipka, for director Oz Perkins and Unbroken Pictures.
