As previously reported, Captain America: Civil War will officially commence principal photography today. And although we may not get the usual filming and full cast announcement until after Avengers: Age of Ultron opens domestically, actor Daniel Brühl has finally revealed, or rather confirmed, that he’ll be playing none other than Baron Helmut Zemo in the 2016 Marvel threequel.
“I think I can tell you that without being thrown into Marvel prison,” Brühl told The Independent during a recent interview. “For the first few days I’ll walk around like a little boy, just amazed by the megalomania of it. It’s such a huge project. We could do 20 films with the budget.” With several superheroes set to appear and become divided in Civil War, it’ll be interesting to see what role Baron Zemo will play. Also bringing villainy to the film is Brock Rumlow aka Crossbones played by Frank Grillo, who recently teased his return to the role on Twitter.
