Daniel Brühl IS Baron Zemo As CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR Starts To Shoot; Evans And Grillo Tease

As previously reported, Captain America: Civil War will officially commence principal photography today. And although we may not get the usual filming and full cast announcement until after Avengers: Age of Ultron opens domestically, actor Daniel Brühl has finally revealed, or rather confirmed, that he’ll be playing none other than Baron Helmut Zemo in the 2016 Marvel threequel.

“I think I can tell you that without being thrown into Marvel prison,” Brühl told The Independent during a recent interview. “For the first few days I’ll walk around like a little boy, just amazed by the megalomania of it. It’s such a huge project. We could do 20 films with the budget.” With several superheroes set to appear and become divided in Civil War, it’ll be interesting to see what role Baron Zemo will play. Also bringing villainy to the film is Brock Rumlow aka Crossbones played by Frank Grillo, who recently teased his return to the role on Twitter.

Evans begins his latest portrayal of Steve Rogers for Captain America: Civil War, the actor revealed that must shed his lovely golden beard for a more look more in line with the Captain. Apparently, Thor’s the only Avenger who can sport a full face of hair.

Posting on his Twitter account, Evans confirmed today that his new baby face is getting behind cameras for Civil War’s official production.

Marvel Studios’ Captain America: Civil War is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo from a screenplay by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. Daniel Brühl Talks CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR: "It’s Huge For Me"

When The Wall Street Journal recently spoke with Daniel Brühl, their phone chat was mysteriously disconnected after the New York newspaper had asked the German-Spanish actor for details about his mystery role in Captain America: Civil War. “I am not supposed to say anything,” said Brühl of the Marvel sequel, laughing. “I cannot even talk about the part, really, because I would be too afraid to give something away and then I’ll end up in the Marvel prison and I do not want that.”

Daniel Brühl was later asked if he’s excited to be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, to which he replied, “Absolutely; It’s huge for me.” He continued, “From the world I am coming from and the movies I have done, this feels big—megalomania and huge. I think I will be walking around for the first week being amazed, like a little boy, to be in that universe. It is going to be fantastic. It is something new. That is why it is a challenge. But it is something I am very much looking forward to because this is entertainment on the highest level.” Rumors and heavy speculation suggest that Brühl will be playing the villain Baron Zemo in Captain America: Civil War. However, initial reports said that his character may also be the main villain in Marvel’s Doctor Strange, which hits theaters on November 4, 2016.

Directed by Joe & Anthony Russo, Captain America: Civil War stars Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Chadwick Boseman, Frank Grillo, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie & Daniel Brühl, with appearances by Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, and Samuel L. Jackson expected. The film opens May 6, 2016

Captain America: Civil War Casting Call Leaked; Daniel Bruhl Character Revealed

Following the huge success of Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier, it should be no surprise that the studio is moving ahead with the highly anticipated sequel. Earlier today, according to the ever reliable, moviecastingcall.org, it appears that we may finally have some confirmation on who is in fact directing the third outing for the Star-Spangled-Man.

According to the site, Joe and Anthony Russo are both returning to the directors’ chair, or should I say, their respective chairs, because the two will not share a chair, you know? That’s kinda weird… Anyway, for the follow-up, which is set to co-star fellow Avengers-star, Iron Man, again portrayed by Robert Downey Jr. The site also mentions “[The film] will begin production in Atlanta, GA this coming April.” While also adding that the shoot will commence in April, and will wrap up in August this year, quite a long shoot, huh?

Along with the confirmation of directors, and the shooting dates, it also appears that we have a clear idea of who Daniel Brühl will play. The Rush star will (according to this site at least) portray Baron Zemo, the iconic Hydra villain, who fans have been dying to see on the big screen. This confirms many theories that have been floating around online since the announcement of the talented actor’s arrival in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In addition to all this, it appears we have our very first synopsis(?) for the anticipated film. “In Captain America: Civil War, billionaire Tony Stark is pitted against Captain America aka Steve Rogers in an ethical face-off over the U.S government’s Superhuman Registration Act, which requires all super powered individuals to register their powers and report to S.H.I.E.L.D.”
