ARROW/FLASH Spin-off Adds Franz Drameh

Young British actor Franz Drameh rounds out the main cast of the CW’s Arrow/Flash spinoff. He will play Jay Jackson, a former high school athlete whose pro career was derailed by injury. Now making ends meets as an auto mechanic, Jay will come to have a surprising affiliation to the S.T.A.R. Labs crew. The project’s producers are keeping the character’s superhero identity a mystery. Online speculation about Jay’s alter ego has ranged from Static to Black Lightning and Black Vulcan.

The superhero team-up show, eyed for next midseason, features three newly cast roles, played by CW logoDrameh, Arthur Darvill (Rip Hunter) and Ciara Renée (Hawkgirl), as well as several actors who play recurring characters on Arrow and The Flash, including Brandon Routh (Arrow‘s Ray Palmer/The Atom), Wentworth Miller (The Flash’s Leonard Snart/Captain Cold), Dominic Purcell (The Flash’s Mick Rory/Heat Wave), Victor Garber (Dr. Martin Stein) and Caity Lotz. Like Drameh’s, Lotz’s role is still TBA as her Arrow character Sara Lance was killed off, with her sister Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy) taking over as the Black Canary.

The new series comes from Arrow creators Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg & Marc Guggenheim who executive produce alongside Sarah Schechter for Warner Bros. TV and Berlanti Prods.

Drameh made his film debut in Hereafter and got his break in the British sleeper Attack The Block and Hollywood’s Edge of Tomorrow. He will next be seen in A Hundred Streets alongside Idris Elba and Gemma Arterton.
