Nicholas Hoult Talks BEAST For X-MEN APOCALYPSE

Nicholas Hoult is still promoting his next big film, Mad Max: Fury Road, but he’s already looking ahead to reprising his role as Beast for X-Men: Apocalypse.

Hoult tells MTV that the film is set to begin production in a week or two, and that he’s already started trying on 1980s suits for the part.

“It’s a kind of Richard Gere-esque, Pretty Woman – they’re quite big, suits in the ‘80s. I kind of feel like a kid dressing up.”

Hoult also again confirmed that X-Men: Apocalypse is the last X-Men movie that he’s signed up for, at least for now.

X-Men: Apocalypse, directed by Bryan Singer (X-Men: Days of Future Past), will hit theaters on May 27, 2016 and stars Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), James McAvoy (Charles Xavier), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Oscar Isaac (Apocalypse), Rose Byrne (Moira McTaggert), Sophie Turner (Jean Grey), Alexandra Shipp (Storm), Kodi Smit-McPhee (Nightcrawler), Tye Sheridan (Cyclops), Ben Hardy (Angel), Olivia Munn(Psylocke), Lucas Till(Havok) and Lana Condor (Jubillee).

Nicholas Hoult’s Last X-Men Movie Might Be X-MEN APOCALYPSE

X-Men: Apocalypse may be Nicholas Hoult’s last time out as part of the X-Men. The actor who has portrayed Beast in X-Men: First Class and X-Men: Days of Future Past says that his contract is up after X-Men: Apocalypse.

“This is the last one I’m signed up for,” Hoult told told EW at SXSW. Hoult goes on to say that he’s not entirely opposed to working out a new deal with Fox, it just depends on the story they present him with.“The first one did so well and [Days of Future Past] got received so brilliantly,” Hoult said. “It’s like, ‘Wow, people really want to see the films’ and the best thing is it’s a great crew and cast to work with and he’s a fun character. I have a good time playing him so I’d keep making them.”

Writer and executive producer Simon Kinberg has said that X-Men: Apocalypse would put a focus on the love triangle between Beast, Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence), and Magneto (Michael Fassbender). Could it be the final chapter?

X-Men: Apocalypse stars Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Evan Peters, Rose Byrne, and franchise newcomers Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Alexandra Shipp, and Ben Hardy. Bryan Singer will direct and Simon Kinberg is writing. X-Men: Apocalypse is set to be released on May 27th, 2016.
