TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES 2 Updates, Set Photos, And More!

The following are a collection of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 casting updates, a bunch more set photos that reveal some things and then some, and more!

Cinemablend reckon Krang will be causing problems for Raph, Leo, Donny and Mikey in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2. The sequel is still shooting in New York, and according to the site a scene was recently filmed “involving a number of extras and the character’s arrival on Earth through a portal of some sort.” Krang actually first debuted in the original animated series back in the ’80s but has since gone on to be a mainstay in TMNT canon. He’s usually depicted as an uneasy ally of Shredder (Brian Tee), and provides him and his cronies with the alien tech they need to defeat the Turtles.

It looks like Karai will have a larger role in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2, as Deadline report that the character has been recast, with Brittany Ishibashi replacing Minae Noji. Karai’s origins are never alluded to in the first movie, but there have been several variations of them over the years. In classic TMNT lore she’s depicted as being either the daughter or granddaughter of Shredder, but in the new animated series for example, she’s is actually Splinter’s daughter, who’s stolen and raised by Shredder to believe that the Turtles’ sensei is the one responsible for the death of her mother.

Ishibashi most recently appeared in TV shows such as Grace And Frankie, Bones and Emily Owens, M.D., as well as features Everything Before Us and The Harvesting.

Megan Fox (Transformers) and Stephen Amell (Arrow) were spotted filming scenes for Teenage Mutant  Ninja Turtles 2 late last night in New York.
The vigilante ‘Casey Jones’ (Amell) is usually sporting a goalie’s mask and intrepid Channel 6 News reporter ‘April O’Neil’ is usually wearing a yellow jacket, but in order to sneak into the headquarters (One Police Plaza) of the New York police department they wore dark clothes and matching baseball caps.
Check out a video with Fox and Amell and a photo of Will Arnett (‘Vernon Fenwick’) who was also on hand for filming.

Below you can get your first look at Brian Tee as our new Shredder (sans helmet), and Brittany Ishibashi as Karai as they prepare to shoot a scene for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2. In TMNT lore, Karai is usually portrayed as either Shredder’s daughter or granddaughter, but we’re not sure if that’ll be the case here as no mention was made of it in the first movie. There’s also a snap of (presumably) a masked-up member of the Foot Clan.

Some more images from the set of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 have found their way online, and they give us our first look at Shredder’s fan-favourite henchman… before they’re turned into a humanoid warthog and rhino that is. As you can see, that’s Gary Anthony Williams with a pink mohawk as Bebop, and engaging him in sure-to-be stimulating conversation is WWE superstar Sheamus (real name Stephen Farrelly) as Rocksteady. We also have better shots of Brian Tee as Shredder and Brittany Ishibashi as Karai.

We’ve had an official image of the Arrow actor in his Casey Jones hockey mask, and now some new BTS pics provide another look at him as he takes on the Turtles.

These appear to be close-up shots from a scene that was filmed a couple of weeks back, which seemed to feature the first meeting between fan-favourite vigilante Casey Jones and the Turtles. Things got a little heated if Raph’s sai sticking out of that metal is anything to go by! We also have some more pics from the scene in which April (Megan Fox) meets Vern (Will Arnett) and his date Alessandra Ambrosio (Alessandra Ambrosio).

Lastly, Megan Fox has returned yet again on set with the questionable schoolgirl outfit. Who knows how this will play out in TMNT 2 and why it has to be worn is probably the more asked question out of the two.

“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2″ will hit theaters on June 3, 2016 and stars Megan Fox (April O’Neil), Will Arnett (Vern Fenwick), Stephen Amell (Casey Jones), Brian Tee (Shredder), Tyler Perry (Baxter Stockman), Laura Linney, Gary Anthony Williams (Bebop), Brittany Ishibashi (Karai) and Stephen Farrelly (Rocksteady) in the Paramount sequel. Michael Bay will once again produce with his Platinum Dunes partners Brad Fuller and Andrew Form. David Green is set to direct from a script by Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec.

Paramounts’ TRANSFORMERS Writers Room; Bumblebee Spin-Off?

Paramount is assembling a writer’s room to cobble together more Transformers sequels and spin-offs, with the first one meant to be ready by the time Michael Bay finishes his Benghazi movie. Amid rumors of a Cybertron/origin movie, there’s now talk of a Bumblebee spin-off movie, with the info coming directly from the CEO of Hasbro.

TFW2005 points out that, at the Global Consumer Conference 2015, Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner said,

Many of you know Bumblebee; the yellow Camaro… formally known as a yellow VW Bug and he is a beloved character by kids all over the world. We could see stories told around Bumblebee and other characters. We are in a process of building the brand equity around the Comic Book Business, our TV Business, our Digital Gaming Business and adding to that our new movie business of Transformers.

That isn’t “a Bumblebee spin-off movie is coming,” but it does suggest that the general awareness for that character could help him to a starring position in one of the spin-off efforts.

Goldner continued,

Last year was Transformers 4. It was quite a good success for us last year. We’ve begun to work with writers and we are now developing the Transformers [Cinematic] Universe beyond the first four movies.

As of now, Akiva Goldsman is running the Transformers writer’s room, which features a whole bunch of people; Andrew Barrer & Gabriel Ferrari, who spent half a year doing the production rewriting on Marvel’s Ant-Man, “The Walking Dead” creator Robert Kirkman, “Iron Man 3″ writers Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, “Pacific Rim 2″ scribe Zak Penn, “Amazing Spider-Man 2″ writer Jeff Pinkner, Lindsey Beer (Dig), Christina Hodson (Shut In), Ken Nolan (Black Hawk Down) and newbie Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Hibernation) will join the writing team for the new expanded universe.

Goldsman said the intention was to replicate the great writers rooms used in hatching TV shows. “There is such reciprocity between TV and movies now, that we’re borrowing this from TV,” Goldsman said. “I got a taste of this from JJ Abrams when I came in to write an episode of Fringe, and then Jeff Pinkner let me hang around for four years like the drunk uncle. The whole process of the story room was really delightful, and we are seeing it more in movies as this moves toward serialized storytelling. There are good rooms around town, including the Monsters Room at Universal, the Star Wars room, and of course, at Marvel. We’re trying to beg, borrow and steal from the best of them, and gathered a group of folks interested in developing and broadening this franchise. There is a central corridor of movies that has been proceeding quite well, but our challenge will be to answer, where do we go from here?”

When they start Monday, Goldsman and the writers will immerse themselves in everything that has been crafted by Hasbro to create what Goldsman said is a deep mythology. “We’ve got a work space that is beautifully production designed to be immersive with a strong sense of the franchise history,” he said. “We will look at the toys, the TV shows, the merchandise, everything that has been generated by Hasbro, from popular to forgotten iterations, and establish a mythological time line. It has been designed with a lot of visual help, toys, robots, sketches and writers and artists. After that super saturation, the writers will figure out not one, but numerous films that will extend the universe.”

Since 2014’s Transformers: Age Of Extinction turned in the franchise’s second-highest global gross with $1.1 billion, the first priority will be to figure out the next sequel and have something scripted and ready by the time Bay completes 13 Hours, the Benghazi siege drama that he’s directing for Paramount. All of the writers will come away with this exercise with a movie treatment to write, including Goldsman. Those writers will then have first crack at writing the scripts for treatment that meet the approval of Paramount, Bay, Spielberg, Hasbro and the producers.

“If one of the writers discovers an affinity for Beast Wars, they can drive forward on treatments that will have been fleshed out by the whole room,” Goldsman said.

Since he’s got an Oscar on his shelf and numerous projects that include the adaptation of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower that’s regained steam as Nikolaj Arcel is being signed to direct by Sony and MRC, Deadline asked Goldsman why he sparked to running the writers room, and scripting one of the Transformers sequels, spinoffs and prequels.

“It just felt like such fertile ground and a rich environment for storytelling, and there has already been thoughtful work done long before any of us came into the room,” Goldsman said. “We will be innovative miners, and we will have fun and get to do what we imagined this was all about when we were kids.”

TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES 2 | A NEWS ROUNDUP

Cowabunga! A bunch of news, set photos & videos, and more have been released online for the upcoming sequel, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2! We have a Bebop casting, an old face returning, and a bunch of other things for you!

Though Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 is currently filming in both Buffalo and New York City, the sequel almost set up shop in another New York locale: Syracuse.

According to producer Brad Fuller, the film seriously considered filming in the town just east of Buffalo while scouting Upstate New York location. Another contestant was Rochester, which is nestled between Buffalo and Syracuse. But according to Fuller, TMNT2’s production ultimately chose Buffalo for the city’s Kensington Expressway, which provided the right environment for a particular scene.

“There are high walls on the side of the highway and that is great for the story and it looks really cool,” Fuller told Syracuse.com. Filming in Buffalo began last week, as the crew filmed numerous car chase scenes with the Turtles’ battlewagon. The main cast however, remained in New York City to film their portions.

According to the Buffalo News, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 will bring as much as $9 million to the small city after receiving a 40 percent tax credit for choosing to film there.

According to Deadline, Bebop will be played by Gary Anthony Williams in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2. No word on who will play his rhinoceros partner in crime Rocksteady just yet, but it’s assumed both characters will be fully CGI once the mutations take place. Before his transformation though, Bebop will apparently be “a punk street thug member of a ragtag gang of misfits who acts as if he’s intellectually superior, but isn’t.”

Laura Linney is playing a member of New York’s finest in the movie, and will probably be tasked with tracking down the awesome foursome and bringing them to justice. Are there any notable female cops in TMNT lore?

Also spotted on set was Arrow’s Stephen Amell who’ll play Casey Jones, with Raphael actor Alan Ritchson.

Noel Fisher, Jeremy Howard and Pete Ploszek along with Ritchson were on set too, with their CGI turtle suits.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 production crew has been split in two. One team is filming with the principal actors in New York City, while the other crew is filming an elaborate car chase scene up in Buffalo, New York.

The first set of videos features the main cast filming scene at the NYC set with a large green screen behind them. The first video shows that there is some tension between Will Arnett’s character Vernon Fenwick and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, April O’Neil (Megan Fox) and new team member Casey Jones (Stephen Amell). How did this develop since the first film is anyone’s guess. You have to assume it has something to do with the fine clothes and new supermodel girlfriend Vern has been seen wearing and with, respectively.

The next slew of videos showcases the extensive car chase scene that is being filmed on Route 33 in Buffalo. After watching all of the videos I believe I have a good idea of what is going in this scene, sort of. There is a truck being escorted by men on motorcycles. That truck appears to be prisoner transport vehicle that the police commonly use. So we could assume that there is a prisoner inside. It might be a Turtle. As the scene unfolds there are two stuntmen that use welding torches. They appear to be trying to open up the roof to help whoever is inside to escape. Their bulky outfits suggests that they are in fact Turtles, and at some point one of them loses their footing and hangs upside down as the transport vehicles keeps on moving along.

Following all of this are two sporty 3-wheeler vehicles, Polaris Slingshots. And chasing behind them is the Ninja Turtles’ “Battlewagon,” which is a reinforced sanitation truck.

Paramount Pictures To Co-finance Scarlett Johansson’s GHOST IN THE SHELL

Paramount has come on board to co-finance and co-produce action vehicle “Ghost in the Shell,” starring Scarlett Johansson, with DreamWorks, Variety has learned.

Under the deal, Paramount will handle the international release of “Ghost in the Shell” while DreamWorks will release the movie through its output deal with Disney on March 31, 2017.

It was reported on Jan. 5 that Johansson was set to star in DreamWorks’ adaptation of the popular anime title, with Paramount having the option to co-finance and co-produce.

The story follows the exploits of a member of a covert ops unit of the Japanese National Public Safety Commission that specializes in fighting technology-related crime. During last month’s press day for “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” Johansson told Collider.com that director Rupert Sanders was expected to begin shooting early next year.

Avi Arad and Steven Paul are producing “Ghost in Shell” from a script by Bill Wheeler. Mark Sourian is exec producing.

Besides starring in “Ultron,” Johansson showed her box office clout as an action star with last year’s “Lucy,” which grossed $458 million worldwide.

Fox is co-financing DreamWorks’ Cold War thriller “Bridge of Spies,” starring Tom Hanks, with Steven Spielberg directing. Disney and Walden Media are co-financing DreamWorks’ “The BFG,” which Spielberg has been shooting in Vancouver.

Five New Character Posters For TERMINATOR GENISYS

It’s hard to say whether or not Alan Taylor’s Terminator Genisys will be any good at this point, but these new character posters featuring stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Emilia Clarke, Jason Clarke, Byung-hun Lee, and Jai Courtney are pretty cool!

The beginning of Terminator: Genisys, the first of three planned films that Paramount hopes will relaunch the beloved sci-fi franchise, is set in 2029, when the Future War is raging and a group of human rebels has the evil artificial-intelligence system Skynet on the ropes. John Connor (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ Jason Clarke) is the leader of the resistance, and Kyle Reese (Divergent‘s Jai Courtney) is his loyal soldier, raised in the ruins of post apocalyptic California. As in the original film, Connor sends Reese back to 1984 to save Connor’s mother, Sarah (Game of Thrones‘ Emilia Clarke), from a Terminator programmed to kill her so that she won’t ever give birth to John. But what Reese finds on the other side is nothing like he expected.

Starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Clarke, Jai Courtney, Emilia Clarke, Matt Smith, Byung-hun Lee, Courtney B. Vance, and J.K. Simmons, Terminator Genisys is set to be released on July 1st.

A Bunch Of New TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES 2 Set Videos And Photos

Over the past several days, there has been a collection of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 set videos and photos being released. Come check them out if you don’t mind some mild spoilers.

The first video has Arrow star Stephen Amell dressed as ‘Casey Jones’ saving Megan Fox’s ‘April O’Neil’ from a member of Shredder’s Foot Clan. She ran into an alleyway and Casey leaps into the scene, knocking the ninja out cold. Then April’s buddies, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, come face-to-face with her hockey stick wielding hero.

In the second video, Amell has his scuffed up goalie mask resting on his head as he watches, alongside Fox, the motion-captured suited Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles goofing off. Either they’re horsing around during some downtime or rehearsing a scene.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 is currently filming in New York State, and one of the first video from the set has made its way to the media. Judging by the video below, the Michael Bay flare that made the first film so (in)famous is still alive and well in the forthcoming sequel.

Thanks to Movie Hotties, we have a new look at Megan Fox on the set of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2. They don’t reveal an awful lot about the sequel, but we do at least get to see the movie’s logo and April O’Neil hanging out with a couple of the titular heroes.

TMNT 2 | Megan Fox

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 is directed by Dave Green (Earth to Echo) with a script by Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec (Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol). Fox and Amell will be joined by Tyler Perry as Baxter Stockman, Will Arnett as Vern Fenwick, Brian Tee as Shredder, and model Alessandra Ambrosio as herself. Laura Linney also has an undisclosed role.

Laura Linney Joins TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES 2

Laura Linney, the three-time Oscar-nominated actress known for her dramatic work, is picking up a pair of nunchuks and joining the cast of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2.

The Paramount sequel, based on the 1980s comic that spawned toys, cartoons and movies, is in production in New York.

Megan Fox and Will Arnett are back for the sequel, which also has newcomers such as Arrow star Stephen Amell and Tyler Perry — the latter another brow-raising casting.

Details about Linney’s role are being kept hidden deep in the sewers.

Michael Bay, Bradley Fuller and Andrew Form are producing.

Linney has stayed away from big-studio franchise movies until TMNT 2, but the actress, now a new mom with a 1-year-old under her belt, is becoming open to projects that are geared toward younger audiences.

Her more recent movies have been a mix of period pieces and dramas, ranging from Hyde Park on Hudson to The Fifth Estate. She is currently onscreen opposite Ian McKellen in Mr. Holmes and also has the all-star 1920s literary drama Genius — with Colin Firth, Guy Pearce, Jude Law and Nicole Kidman — in the can.

New BTS TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES 2 Photos; Amell’ Casey Jones, And Fox’s Disguise

Critics didn’t love it and the response from longtime fans was more than a little mixed, but Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was a box office hit last year. It didn’t take long for a sequel to be officially announced, and that’s set to be released on June 3rd, 2016, with the original cast returning alongside new additions Stephen Amell (as Casey Jones) and Tyler Perry (as Baxter Stockman).

So, what’s the verdict? Stephen Amell has already been spotted on set with the hockey stick, but this first official image (not including those vehicle photos) from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 reveals that the Arrow star will have the mask that the character is so well known for.

Megan Fox (Jonah Hex) was spotted filming a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles scene in which she was chased through the streets of New York City.

Fox, who plays intrepid Channel 6 News reporter April O’Neil, ran through oncoming traffic as the Shredder’s clan of ninjas, known as the Foot Clan, leaped over cars as they hunted her down. Why? It probably had to do with the canister Fox can been seen holding onto.

Fox was also seen in the Grand Central Station while filming showing off her disguise(?) as a Britney Spears look alike! Hopefully this explained better in the film more than these set pics thanks to SuperHeroHype.

More set photos, thanks to Just Jared, show Megan Fox running in boots while filming scenes for her upcoming film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 in New York City. The 28-year-old actress was joined on set by co-star Stephen Amell, who plays her love interest in the film. Later in the day, Megan looked unrecognizable while sporting a blonde wig for a scene.
