BATMAN v SUPERMAN: Jeremy Irons Talks More About His Very Different Take On Alfred

Based on what we think we know about Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Zack Snyder’s take on the Caped Crusader will be drastically different to both The Dark Knight Trilogy and any other previous live-action versions of the iconic DC Comics character.

Asked by Indiewire in a recent interview to talk about how his version of Alfred Pennyworth (Bruce Wayne’s loyal butler and Batman ally) will compare to what we’ve seen in the past, actor Jeremy Irons told them the following: “Oh he’ll be quite different. He has an interesting history. He’s a very competent man. He’s the sort of man I think anyone would like to be married to. He can sort of do everything: change light bulbs, blow up bridges if he has to.”

Alfred Will Differ From The Rest In "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" Says Jeremy Irons

Jeremy Irons says his role as Alfred, Bruce Wayne’s butler and confidant, in the upcoming Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice film will be quite different from previous versions.
“He is quite a different Alfred than we have seen so far. Zack Snyder had very clear views about what he wanted,” Irons explained to Hollywood Reporter. “I would just say he’s more hands-on perhaps than just a butler.”
Irons says his part is not a large role due to the very large cast in the DC Comics film.
Irons is no stranger to big budget flicks and noted that Batman vs. Superman is not that different from Die Hard With A Vengeance in which he played the villain in the 1995 action thriller.
The Oscar winner joked that even Dungeons and Dragons was worth it for the “obscene amount of money.”
Batman vs. Superman lands in theaters March 25, 2016.

"Batman V Superman : Dawn of Justice" Will Have Imax

“Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice” will be shot with Imax cameras, a spokeswoman for the company confirmed to Variety.
News that the superhero matchup would use the cameras first bubbled up on Twitter after a user observed the filmmakers as they shot scenes in Chicago.
Snyder’s “Man of Steel” showed in Imax, but didn’t use the Imax cameras, so this marks the director’s first time shooting in the format. “Batman V. Superman” stars Ben Affleck as the caped crusader, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Amy Adams, Jeremy Irons and Jesse Eisenberg. Warner Bros. will release the picture on March 25, 2016.
Imax cameras have been used on “Interstellar,” “The Dark Knight Rises,” “Transformers: Age of Extinction” and the upcoming “Star Wars” sequel. This will be the seventh studio movie shot with Imax cameras.
