Even More CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR Set Photos; RDJ, Renner, Olsen, Johansson AND Rudd Spotted!

Another day, another batch of photos from the Captain America: Civil War set. However, this particular batch features not only a first look at actor Paul Rudd (Ant-Man) on set in-between takes, but also a first look at Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch) finally joining Chris Evans (Captain America) and Anthony Mackie (Falcon) in the battle against Crossbones (Frank Grillo). While it appears the supervilain (who’s sporting more burn scars) is no match for Cap and his new Avengers team, yesterday was reportedly the last day filming will take place on this African Market set.

It also appears Robert Downey Jr. is about to start work on Captain America: Civil War as the Iron Man actor has now been spotted on the African Market set. Although Downey wasn’t in costume, additional photos & videos from the shoot capture more of Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), and Frank Grillo (Crossbones) back in action, as well as Paul Rudd (Ant-Man) in different civvies as Scott Lang.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR Set Photos; ‘Captain America’ and ‘Falcon’ Battle ‘Crossbones’; Jeremy Renner Arrives On Set

Yet another cluster of Captain America: Civil War set photos have found their way online and as per usual they are awesome! We’re talking Captain America and Falcon themselves battling Crossbones, Hawkeye AKA Jeremy Renner arriving on set and much much more!

As you can see, Frank Grillo has been spotted by Just Jared on the set of Captain America: Civil War minus his Crossbones mask, giving us a look at his scars as a result. Of course, based on what happened in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, almost his entire face will be covered with them in the movie. However, the make-up has probably only been applied to his eyes here because they can be seen through the slits in the mask. Either way, it gives us an idea as to what we should expect, and his desire for revenge becomes easier to understand!

An Instagram video has now surfaced from the “African Market” set of Captain America: Civil War. Featuring the Falcon soaring into a mystery bad guy who’s likely to be one of Crossbones’ minions, the video can be watched below. It seems filming has taken a halt for the weekend, but a recent Civil War casting call suggests more scenes will be filmed in the “African Market” on Monday. So, we might see Chadwick Boseman join the action in the Black Panther costume. What do you think?

Also thanks to ComicBook.com, we have another vid from yesterday’s “African Market” filming of Captain America: Civil War. This time featuring both Cap (Chris Evans) and the Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) in action, or rather their stunt doubles, the brief video is embedded below.

Thanks to Just Jared, we have some great action shots from the set of Captain America: Civil War. As you can see, it appears as if the guantlets Brock Rumlow is wearing as Crossbones have made him considerably more powerful, and he sends Steve Rogers flying here. Many of the images featured here also confirms what many of us suspected; these scenes do indeed take place in Africa. Whether or not it’s Wakanda is another matter, but with Black Panther set to play a role in the threequel, you have to imagine that there will be some ties.

Meanwhile, MTV News have a couple of additional photos of Captain America battling Crossbones, not to mention Jeremy Renner arriving on set!

Extra photos I have found online showing filming for Captain America: Civil War continuing on the “African market” set where stars Chris Evans, Anthony Mackie, and Frank Grillo with respective stunt professionals returning in full costume for more action scenes.

Directed by Anthony & Joe Russo from a screenplay by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely, Captain America: Civil War picks up where Avengers: Age of Ultron left off, as Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain. Anthony Mackie Talks AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON

Anthony Mackie held a panel at the Emerald City Comicon 2015, where he talked for the first time about his confirmed return as Sam Wilson aka Falcon in Avengers: Age of Ultron, as well as in the much-anticipated Captain America: Civil War.  When asked to compare Cap & Falcon’s dynamic with Batman & Robin’s, Mackie implied that his superhero pair is more equal. “With Falcon and Cap, what’s so great is there’s a mutual respect,” he started. “There’s a soldier respect. What’s great about Age of Ultron and [Civil War] is you get to see their relationship grow.” Mackie had then expressed his excitement for Avengers: Age of Ultron, in which he will likely only appear briefly. “Remember the first time you saw a 3D movie, and got a headache, and were like, ‘What happened to my brain?'” he asked. “Avengers: Age of Ultron is like that, with The Rock punching you in the face. It’s like Disneyland for adults. It’s like going to Vegas with an unlimited credit card. It’s by far the most stupendous film experience you’ll have. It’s just ridiculous.”

Anthony Mackie was later asked how much of Marvel Studios’ future plans is he aware of, to which he replied explaining how he (and everyone else) found out late last month that he would be in Age of Ultron. “This is how it goes,” he said. “About two weeks ago, I got a call. My friend was like, ‘Yo, Age of Ultron posters out.’ Why didn’t tell me you were in it?’ ‘I’m in it?’ That’s how Marvel rolls. When you see somebody and they say, ‘We can’t tell you,’ that’s because they don’t know.”

Marvel Studios presents Avengers: Age of Ultron, the epic follow-up to the biggest Super Hero movie of all time. When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to the Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure. Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron stars Robert Downey Jr., who returns as Iron Man, along with Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk. Together with Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, and with the additional support of Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Cobie Smulders as Agent Maria Hill, the team must reassemble to defeat James Spader as Ultron, a terrifying technological villain hell-bent on human extinction. Along the way, they confront two mysterious and powerful newcomers, Wanda Maximoff, played by Elizabeth Olsen, and Pietro Maximoff, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and meet an old friend in a new form when Paul Bettany becomes Vision. Written and directed by Joss Whedon and produced by Kevin Feige, Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series “The Avengers,” published in 1963. Get set for an action-packed thrill ride when The Avengers return in Avengers: Age of Ultron May 1, 2015.

Anthony Mackie Talks New Avengers: Age Of Ultron Poster

The reveal of a new Avengers: Age of Ultron poster on Tuesday confirmed that The Falcon, Sam Wilson, would be appearing in the film.

On Tuesday evening, Anthony Mackie, the actor who plays the Falcon in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, took to Twitter to express his excitement over Wilson’s return.

See it below:

Avengers: Age of Ultron opens May 1.

Anthony Mackie Says CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR Is ‘So Far Past’ AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON

“The way I look at it, Captain America [The Winter Soldier] was a spin-off of Avengers, but it was so much better than Avengers,” said Anthony Mackie during an interview with Detroit’s WXYZ news. “With the new Avengers [Age of Ultron] coming out, the trailer that came out, it’s gonna be 10 times better than Avengers. So, [Captain America: Civil War] is gonna be so much better than Avengers 2. It can’t be Avengers 2.5, it’s like Avengers 3.8. It’s so far past where Avengers is gonna be this summer. Just having read [Civil War script], and seen the specs of what they’re gonna do, it’s unlike anything you’ve ever seen.” When asked about appearing in Age of Ultron, given rumors suggest The Falcon is joining the new roster, Mackie said he’s yet to get the call. “I hope so, they’re still shooting,” he replied. “They’re still adding pieces so I’m definitely waiting for the call, Marvel, to be added in any way, shape, or form that I can.” What do you think?

Directed by Joe & Anthony Russo, Captain America: Civil War stars Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Chadwick Boseman, Frank Grillo, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie & Daniel Brühl, with appearances by Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, and Samuel L. Jackson expected. The film opens May 6, 2016.

Anthony Mackie Talks Captain America:Civil War; Black Panther, New Costume, Whose Side He’s On, And More

In the following interview with iamROGUE , Anthony Mackie talks in detail about his role as The Falcon in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War. We’ve been hearing a lot from the actor as of late, but mostly in drinbs and drabs, so it’s actually great to hear him talk in depth about his excitement for the movie in one place! There’s obviously nothing too revealing here – this is Marvel after all – but the actor does drop some interesting details and hints as to what we should expect, so check it out below.

On Whether He Knew Falcon Would Return In Captain America: Civil War:

I didn’t know. When we finished Cap 2 I asked and begged to come back, literally. So I found out when everybody else did. I got a call from my manager. He said, “They’re going to put you in Cap 3.” It’s always a surprise with Marvel, man. If you are not one of those like Thor or Cap, then you have no idea. The only person that had an early version of the script and read the outline was Chris Evans. I talk to him all the time because we are good friends and he would always say, “Man, the movie is going to be good.” I’m like, am I in it? He would say, “It’s going to be a big movie.”  So he would never tell me if I was in it or not. Even he keeps secrets. It’s a dirty business.

On Whether He’s Read The Civil War Comic Book:

I have. You know, I’m not sure how close it will stay because I haven’t read anything. I just found out literally this week. I haven’t gotten a script or an outline. I don’t know how much of it I’m going to be in. I have no idea how they are going to use me. But you know, the Civil War comic book, there is so much there. I don’t know how they are going to condense it and make it into a movie because it is a civil war. It’s epic! Look at the way it’s going now when they announced Phase 3, with Black Panther and Dr. Strange coming into the fold. I have no idea what they are going to do with this movie. I just know that Cap 3 has to be better than Cap 2. So I know Cap 3 is going to be mind-blowing.

On His Excitement To Hear Black Panther Will Be In The Movie:

I was. I was very, very excited. When we were shooting Cap 2 I would always have conversations with them about Black Panther because I wanted to stress the importance of that character to the movie going populous. I couldn’t be happier that they cast Chadwick (Boseman). He’s a remarkable young man. I’ve known him off and on for over ten years now. I first met him in ’98 at Howard (University) down in D.C. I’ve only known him from a far. But the more I’ve heard of him from people who are in his inner circle, the more I’ve been proud of the fact that someone who did the work, and did their due diligence, is being rewarded at a rate like this in his career because he truly deserves it.

Whose Side Will The Falcon Choose In Captain America: Civil War:

Listen; you would never meet anybody that doesn’t want to hangout with Tony Stark. Tony’s the man! I have no idea. I have no idea how they are going to use me. I have no idea how they are going to introduce all of those characters.

On The Significance Of Robert Downey Jr. Being Part Of The Movie:

It’s huge! It’s funny, I’ve met Robert a few times and I didn’t know what to expect. I didn’t know what he would be like because he is such a mega star and has had so many phases of his career. I have to say, he couldn’t be more of a down to Earth, fun to be around, cool, smart person. Every time you talk to him, it’s just mind-blowing the stories he tells, and the way he looks at this Iron Man phenomenon and how it’s helping him in the third phase of his career to open doors to do projects that he has wanted to do forever but couldn’t. The great thing about these Marvel movies is that everybody in the world sees them. Not just everybody in California and New York, everybody in the world! That’s something that an actor can only dream of having that opportunity.

On A New Costume For His Character In The Threequel:

I want my bird, man. I want my bird! The thing is, you know I’ve been emailing with people over at Marvel. I’ve putting it out there in the ethos that I’m going to have a new and improved costume and come out all flashy in spandex. So I’m hoping that I get a new and improved costume. That’s my whole thing. I’ve just been saying it, hoping that they’ll read it and say, “Alright, we have to give Anthony a new costume.” Please, dress me up in spandex!

On Whether We’ll See Him In Avengers: Age Of Ultron:

I hope. At this point, I have not. I hope, I hope, I hope, I hope. They’re doing reshoots and that’s why I’m letting them know I’m available. So whatever weekend they want me there, I’ll fly myself out and shoot whatever scene they want me in. Even if it’s like, “Oh man, it’s Iron Man and Hulk.” But I heard today in one of the interviews that someone thought I was in Ant-Man. I hope so! I hope I’m in Ant-Man. I hope I’m in Hulk 3, I hope I’m in Thor 3, and Guardians of the Galaxy 2. Me and Groot can boogie!

CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR Will Be AVENGERS 3.8, Says ‘The Falcon’ Anthony Mackie

‘The Falcon’ actor Anthony Mackie now talks more about being a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and what to expect when he takes flight again in Captain America: Civil War.

During an appearance on WTTG Fox 5 news while promoting his new drama, Black or White, Anthony Mackie further discussed his return as Sam Wilson, the Falcon, in the much-anticipated Captain America: Civil War. “It’s so amazing to be a part of the Marvel universe,” said the actor. “It’s so rare that you go into a movie, and you know the movie is gonna be good. And Marvel does not settle for mediocre on any of their movies. And that is what’s so great. You can go as far as you want because you know they are going to make it look good.” Mackie then reiterated that he will get a new suit and a set of Falcon wings in Captain America: Civl War, given his original pair were destroyed in The Winter Soldier. “I have a brand new costume; I’m full in effect” he reassured. “I will tell you this: Cap 3 is gonna be everything you can imagine. Cap 2 was really Avengers 1.5, and Cap 3 is gonna be Avengers 3.8..” With that comment, is it safe to assume there will be even more superhero characters in the threequel, which kicks off “Phase 3” of Marvel’s Cinematic Universe? Maybe, but only time will tell. Anyhow, Anthony Mackie was later asked yet again if he will someday wield Captain America’s shield, to which he replied: “My thing is, I’ve done one of these movies. I love working with Chris [Evans], he’s one of my closest friends. So, as long as it’s me and Chris playing Falcon and Cap, I’m all cool with being Falcon.”

Directed by Joe & Anthony Russo, Captain America: Civil War stars Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Chadwick Boseman, Frank Grillo, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie & Daniel Brühl, with appearances by Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, and Samuel L. Jackson expected. The film opens May 6, 2016

CAPTAIN AMERICA CIVIL WAR :Anthony Mackie On New ‘Falcon’ Suit And Taking Up CAPTAIN AMERICA Mantle

While promoting his new film, Black or White, on multiple news outlets, Anthony Mackie talked briefly about reprising his Captain America: The Winter Soldier role as Sam Wilson, aka the Falcon, in next year’s Civil War. When Windy City Live asked Mackie about rumors, or rather speculation, that he’ll become Captain America like in recent comics, he replied: “Well, you know there are many incarnations in the comic book, and we are now going into the Civil War. So, if you look at it in the comic book, Cap gives Bucky the shield, Bucky gives it back to Cap, Cap gives it to [Sam Wilson]. Then Bucky goes off and marries Black Widow, so I keep the shield… give it back to Cap, and recently Cap wanted to be old, so he gave me the shield back and now I got the Shield; I’m not giving it back.” In a separate interview, at the premiere of Black or White, Hollywood Chicago asked Anthony Mackie about his new Falcon suit in Captain America: Civil War. “The new falcon suit is gonna be much better than the old Falcon suit; gotta rebuild,” he said.

Directed by Joe & Anthony Russo, Captain America: Civil War stars Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Chadwick Boseman, Frank Grillo, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie & Daniel Brühl, with appearances by Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, and Samuel L. Jackson expected. The film opens May 6, 2016

CAPTAIN AMERICA CIVIL WAR: Anthony Mackie ‘The Falcon’ Reveals New Filming Locations

When Anthony Mackie and Kevin Costner stopped by the B96 Chicago to promote their new film, Black or White, the former actor was asked about his return as Sam Wilson aka the Falcon in Captain America: Civil War. “We start shooting in April,” Mackie said. “So, it’s gonna be a lot of flying and fighting for about five months… and I’m not mad at all.” Costner then asked where filming for the Marvel sequel will be taking place. “Puerto Rico, Berlin, and Atlanta,” he replied. Unfortunately, that was all Anthony Mackie had said about Civil War during the video interview (below), but it’s interesting to know the Marvel production will be on-location in Berlin, Germany. Especially since Cleveland, Ohio, had doubled for the country on The Avengers. What do you think?

Directed by Joe & Anthony Russo, Captain America: Civil War stars Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Chadwick Boseman, Frank Grillo, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie & Daniel Brühl, with appearances by Scarlett Johansson, and Samuel L. Jackson expected. The film opens May 6, 2016
