CHAPPIE Is Humanity’s Last Hope In New Poster!

Sony Pictures has provided ComingSoon.net with the new poster for Chappie, the third feature film from director Neill Blomkamp (District 9, Elysium), which will open in conventional and IMAX theaters on March 6.

Written by Blomkamp and Terri Tatchell, Chappie tells the original story of a precocious robot named Chappie, the first robot with the ability to think and feel for itself. The film stars Sharlto Copley (Maleficent, District 9), Dev Patel (Slumdog Millionaire), South African rappers Ninja and ¥o-Landi Vi$$er, Jose Pablo Cantillo, with Academy Award nominee Sigourney Weaver and Hugh Jackman. Blomkamp produced the film along with Simon Kinberg. Ben Waisbren served as executive producer.

In the near future, crime is patrolled by an oppressive mechanized police force. But now, the people are fighting back. When one police droid, Chappie, is stolen and given new programming, he becomes the first robot with the ability to think and feel for himself. As powerful, destructive forces start to see Chappie as a danger to mankind and order, they will stop at nothing to maintain the status quo and ensure that Chappie is the last of his kind.

Yahoo! have just debuted a brand new UK trailer for Neill Blomkamp’s upcoming sci-fi flick, Chappie. X-Men’s Hugh Jackman looks to be relishing the opportunity to play bad guys these days, and his mulleted Aussie antagonist seems like a real nasty piece of work.

After being kidnapped by two criminals during birth, Chappie becomes the adopted son in a strange and dysfunctional family. Chappie is preternaturally gifted, one of a kind, a prodigy. He also happens to be a robot.
