Bobby Confirmed To Return To SUPERNATURAL

“Supernatural” favorite Jim Beaver will return to the hit CW series for its April 1 episode, Variety has learned exclusively.

In the episode, titled “Inside Man,” Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Castiel (Misha Collins) need a little help from someone in heaven, so they turn to Bobby (Beaver). Elsewhere, Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Rowena (guest star Ruth Connell) face off.

Beaver’s beloved character, Bobby Singer, was killed in the season seven episode “Death’s Door,” but has made several reappearances in spirit form since then. Beaver last appeared on screen in the season nine premiere “I Think I’m Gonna Like It Here” as a manifestation of Sam’s subconscious.

Beaver is currently starring in the play “Verdigris” (which the thesp also wrote) at Theatre West in Los Angeles. He’ll next be seen on the big screen in Guillermo del Toro’s “Crimson Peak,” alongside Tom Hiddleston, Mia Wasikowska and Jessica Chastain.

‘Supernatural’ Taps ‘Big Eyes’ Actress for Age-Defying Guest Role

The CW’s “Supernatural” has cast “Big Eyes” actress Madeleine Arthur in a suitably surreal guest role, Variety has learned exclusively.

Arthur will play the teenage version of a woman named Tina, who finds herself trapped in an very dangerous situation with a now 14-year-old Dean Winchester (guest star Dylan Everett) in the Feb. 3 episode of the cult hit’s 10th season.

Titled “About a Boy,” the episode sees Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) investigating a case in which people are disappearing into thin air with only their clothes left behind. The Winchesters suspect fairies or angels, but the truth turns out to be much more shocking — Hansel (guest star Mark Acheson), from Hansel and Gretel lore, is kidnapping people and turning them into their younger selves to placate the evil witch (“Downton Abbey’s” Lesley Nicol). Unfortunately, Dean finds this information out the hard way after he becomes Hansel’s next victim and reverts to his 14-year-old self.

Arthur played Jane, the daughter of Amy Adams and Christoph Waltz’s characters in the Golden Globe-winning “Big Eyes.” On TV she has previously guested on “The Killing” and the CW’s “Tomorrow People.”

The episode was written by Adam Glass and helmed by “Supernatural” director of photography Serge Ladouceur in his third stint in the director’s chair for the show.

SUPERNATURAL: Midseason Premiere Trailer

The last time we saw the Winchester brothers, Dean (Jensen Ackles) was rapidly losing control over the Mark of Cain, leading him to slaughter a house full of humans while under the influence of the brand. So naturally, when “Supernatural” returns on Jan. 20, Dean, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Castiel (Misha Collins) are racing to find a cure for the Mark before Dean succumbs to its murderous effects entirely. Sadly, judging by Variety‘s exclusive first look at the trailer for the show’s midseason premiere, titled “The Hunter Games,” they’ll have plenty of obstacles in their path.

Also on tap in upcoming episodes: Crowley (Mark Sheppard) could be facing a Julius Caesar-style coup (demons are so untrustworthy); the Winchesters get their hands on the manipulative Metatron (Curtis Armstrong); and Charlie (Felicia Day) returns from Oz.

“Supernatural” was among the eight series given early renewals by The CW on Sunday. It will enter its eleventh season this fall.

The CW also released a preview clip from “The Hunter Games” on Wednesday, which you can check out below.
