ARROW/FLASH Spin-off Adds Franz Drameh

Young British actor Franz Drameh rounds out the main cast of the CW’s Arrow/Flash spinoff. He will play Jay Jackson, a former high school athlete whose pro career was derailed by injury. Now making ends meets as an auto mechanic, Jay will come to have a surprising affiliation to the S.T.A.R. Labs crew. The project’s producers are keeping the character’s superhero identity a mystery. Online speculation about Jay’s alter ego has ranged from Static to Black Lightning and Black Vulcan.

The superhero team-up show, eyed for next midseason, features three newly cast roles, played by CW logoDrameh, Arthur Darvill (Rip Hunter) and Ciara Renée (Hawkgirl), as well as several actors who play recurring characters on Arrow and The Flash, including Brandon Routh (Arrow‘s Ray Palmer/The Atom), Wentworth Miller (The Flash’s Leonard Snart/Captain Cold), Dominic Purcell (The Flash’s Mick Rory/Heat Wave), Victor Garber (Dr. Martin Stein) and Caity Lotz. Like Drameh’s, Lotz’s role is still TBA as her Arrow character Sara Lance was killed off, with her sister Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy) taking over as the Black Canary.

The new series comes from Arrow creators Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg & Marc Guggenheim who executive produce alongside Sarah Schechter for Warner Bros. TV and Berlanti Prods.

Drameh made his film debut in Hereafter and got his break in the British sleeper Attack The Block and Hollywood’s Edge of Tomorrow. He will next be seen in A Hundred Streets alongside Idris Elba and Gemma Arterton.

ARROW News Roundup; Diggle 2.0, Roy’s Return, New Arrow Lair, And More!

Much is to come for Team Arrow and for the rest of the Arrowverse, here is just what is to arrive for the remaining episodes of season 3 and beyond!

Arrow’s future and more revealed at the Calgary Expo:

Marc Guggenheim talks with The Hollywood Reporter on the consequences of the Lazarus Pit:

Everything in the show has consequences, and that’s something we’ve been consistent about, It’s something you will continue to see not just through the end of season three, but into season four.

Get more scoop thanks to TVGuide on things to expect from Arrow’s final episodes of the season:

1. Thea might never be the same: After Thea (Willa Holland) was stabbed by Ra’s al Ghul (Matt Nable), Oliver realizes he has no choice but to place his sister in Nanda Parbat’s Lazarus Pit this week. However, the Pit’s powers of resurrection come with a few serious consequences. “We sort of established very clearly that the Lazarus Pit returns you, but not always in the condition in which you left,” executive producer Marc Guggenheim said. “So there’s a lot of stories to be told with Thea and her recovery.”

2. Roy will be back to say goodbye: Three weeks after faking his death, Roy (Colton Haynes) will return to say goodbye to Thea in the penultimate episode (airing May 6). “Certainly, we owed the audience some closure for this three-season-long love story between these two characters,” Guggenheim said.

3. Team Arrow gets a new lair: Since Lance’s raid last week, Team Arrow has found themselves homeless. Thankfully, Ray is kind enough to offer his assistance in housing the vigilante organization. “You’re going to see them hanging out a great deal in Palmer Technologies,” Guggenheim said. We’ll also get to see one final appearance of the lair in theApril 29 episode.
Get scoop on Arrow and more must-watch finales

5. Oliver will reconnect with his dark side: Team Arrow won’t take Oliver’s decision to join the League of Assassins lightly, but his choice will become even harder to bear in the April 29 episode. The emotional episode “is a villain-of-the-week episode. It just so happens the villain of the week is Oliver,” Guggenheim revealed.

6. Nyssa is in trouble: Oliver joining the League has huge consequences for Nyssa (Katrina Law), particularly when the organization sets its sights on her in the April 29 episode. Luckily, Nyssa will have the protection of Laurel (Katie Cassidy), as well as the remaining members of Team Arrow. And through all these trials and tribulations, viewers will get to learn more about Ra’s mysterious daughter. “Not in terms of backstory, but in terms of how she reacts to things and how she’s dealing with life post-[Ra’s offer to Oliver],” said Guggenheim.

7. Team Arrow will soldier on: What is Team Arrow anymore? That is one of the questions the group will struggle with after losing Oliver and Roy. “There’s a real trinity formed between Laurel, Diggle (David Ramsey) and Felicity. And they’re all sort of leaning on each other and they’re processing things in different ways,” Guggenheim said. While Laurel distracts herself by trying to save Starling City and Felicity struggles with her grief over Oliver’s departure, the April 29 episode will “really [upend] Diggle’s world, certainly vis-a-vis Oliver,” Guggenheim said. “That’s something that will certainly have repercussions in the remainder of the season.”

John Wesley Shipp Tease BART ALLEN, Reveals Possible ARROW/THE FLASH Spinoff

During an appearance at Missouri’s Cape Comic Con, actor John Wesley Shipp dropped a few major hints about “Flash’s” future as the CW series races towards the conclusion of its debut season. When asked if the show, which recently brought time travel elements to the forefront of its narrative, would ever include Barry Allen’s grandson Bart, Shipp stated that anything is possible on the show.

“They’re already talking about that,” said Shipp, who plays Barry Allen’s father Henry on the series. Think of the amount of story that we have burned through in eighteen episodes… They’re talking about all that stuff.”
Shipp expanded on his answer by mentioning the still-unnamed “Flash”/”Arrow” spinoff starring Brandon Routh, Caity Lotz, Victor Garber and Wentworth Miller among others. The actor casually referred to the spinoff as “Legends,” a title that has resonance with the DC Universe; a limited series titled “Legends” was published in 1986 and formed the backbone of first major crossover event following the reboot of the DC Universe in “Crisis On Infinite Earths.” This goes against earlier rumors that listed “Atom” as the series’ working title, and lines up with executive producer Andrew Kresiberg’s comments debunking those rumors.
CBR News has reached out to Warner Bros. Television and The CW for comment.
Shipp mentioned that the spinoff has a 13-episode order, and he also included CBS’ upcoming “Supergirl” series when running through a list of shows that will comprise the ever-expanding shared DC TV universe. Since “Supergirl” shares a producing team with the CW’s DC shows, it’s been hinted at and assumed that the series will have ties to “Flash” and “Arrow.”
You can see part of Shipp’s dialogue with fans in the video below.

Title For ARROW/FLASH Spinoff Revealed?

In a report from Cannes MipTV event, Variety has seemingly confirmed the title of the upcoming “Flash”/”Arrow” spinoff series, which has so far been kept under wraps and has become the subject of much speculation. The passage from Variety reads:

With MipTV wrapped, the focus now shifts to the L.A. Screenings in May. Big product suppliers were using MipTV to talk up L.A. Screenings bows that include, in terms of shows attracting attention for WBITVD, “Supergirl” for CBS, “Blindspot” for NBC, “Legends of Tomorrow” for CW, and also “The Curse of the Fuentes Women,” for NBC.

The title falls in line with the one casually mentioned by “Flash” actor John Wesley Shipp during a convention panel over the weekend. Shipp called the spinoff “Legends,” a name that harkens back to the 1986 DC Comics limited series. Variety’s report seemingly reveals the show’s full name — “Legends of Tomorrow.”
With “of Tomorrow” added, the show’s title does not immediately ring any DC bells. If not for Shipp’s recent reveal that the word “Legends” is part of the spinoff’s name, the title might have slipped by unnoticed in the roll call at the end of the Variety piece. Earlier rumors listed “Atom” as the series’ working title; this new title lines up with executive producer Andrew Kresiberg’s comments debunking those rumors.
The “Flash” and “Arrow” spinoff is set to star Brandon Routh (Ray Palmer/The Atom on “Arrow”), Wentworth Miller (Leonard Snart/Captain Cold on “Flash”), Dominic Purcell (Mick Rory/Heat Wave on “Flash”), Victor Garber (Martin Stein/one-half of Firestorm on “Flash”) and Caity Lotz in an as-yet undisclosed role, following the death of her “Arrow” character of Sara Lance at the start of this season. Ciara Renee and Arthur Darvill have also joined the show as Hawkgirl and Rip Hunter, respectively. “Flash” and “Arrow” vets Andrew Kreisberg, Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim will executive produce.
